The Mauryan empire is ruled by a single king named Chandragupta he gathered an army ,and then killed the unpopular king Nanda. In 321 B.C he claimed the throne and later created the Mauryan empire.Later on creating an oligarchy government system, a citizen has limited rights to say and speak up from the empire kingdom and what to do . The political and cultural achievements of the Mauryan Empire inspire Indians to the present. Mauryan also had rights to have as many children as they liked to have it usually helped the family .One person that had partial rights to be active in the kingdom was a priest said to believe that he was a descendant from a big power there for partial say was given to him.Chandragupta’s minister, named Kautilya, reputedly wrote a book titled Arthasastra. Which dealt with the theory and practice of government, the laws, and administration. The Arthasastra described the Mauryan Empire as a centralized bureaucratic state. The ruler was supreme commander, chief administrator, and judge. But the emperor usually had all of the demand in the empire to place anywhere were he wanted to and changed how much people were allowed to act against him and the kingdom .
Mauryan government is known to be more to be oligarchy then any other government system , for the limited rights of all the citizens living there with little to no say .Even though Chandragupta was said to change Mauryan empire in a slight negative way many people respectful way for his ways of building the small town to a certain enlargement , sculptors and artist were said to build a statue of Chandragupta it was concitered to be a sort of way of interpreting the kings wish of wanting the public to view him as their god.Chandragupta ruled for 25 years. According to Jain tradition he abdicated in 301 B.C became a Jain monk, and fasted to death. His son and successor Bindusara ruled until 272 b.c. Little is known of him except that he warred to expand the empire southward and was known as the Slayer of Foes.
